How safe is the van delivering the shopping to your front door?
There are around 4 million vans on UK roads, and this number continues to grow thanks to a continued surge in home deliveries.
Vans are involved in more fatal accidents than any other type of vehicle on UK roads. Yet only a small number of new vans feature Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), compared to most new cars. Now, Euro NCAP and Thatcham Research are launching the world's first commercial van safety rating to highlight the lack of collision avoidance tech on vans.
QBE and Thatcham Research participated in an engaging discussion around road safety, claims and underwriting in the commercial van sector, and looked at how the new van safety ratings can help to bring the number of accidents down. Watch the virtual event here:
