QBE European Operations appoints Sir Keith Skeoch Non-Executive Chairman

Sir Keith Skeoch has been appointed Non-Executive Chairman of QBE European Operations.

Sir Keith is a financial services industry leader with over 40 years’ experience across the private and public sectors. After 20 years as Chief economist at James Capel, he joined Standard Life Investments as Chief Investment Officer in 1999, and served on the board of Standard Life Plc, initially as CEO of Standard Life investments plc and then as CEO of Standard Life plc and Standard Life Aberdeen. 

Since retiring from executive life in 2020, he has built a broad portfolio of non-executive roles, including chairing the Financial Reporting Council until late 2021 having served as a non-executive director for nine years. He also chaired HMT’s Ring Fencing and Proprietary Trading Review and chaired the Investment Association stepping down in September 2022 and he currently chairs both the Edinburgh International Festival and Pre-Emption Group.

In his new role, Sir Keith will work closely with Jason Harris, CEO QBE International to drive forward QBE’s strategic ambitions. He takes over from Tim Ingram, who has retired after nine years as Chairman.
