International business insurer QBE has appointed Lucy Smith and Hannah Dennis as it prepares for the launch of its new Media Professional Indemnity (PI) product for the European Operations division.
Lucy and Hannah join as Senior Media PI Underwriter and Media PI Underwriter respectively.
Lucy brings over 10 years of experience underwriting media products to the role, most recently as Senior Media, Film and TV Underwriter at Tokio Marine HCC.
Also joining from Tokio Marine HCC, Hannah has been in the insurance industry for 10 years, specialising in media, film and TV underwriting for the last three. She previously held the role of Media, Film and TV Underwriter.
In their new roles, they will be based in London and will report into Chris Pavlou, Professional Indemnity Portfolio Manager - International Markets, QBE Europe.
Lucy and Hannah will be looking to replicate the success of QBE’s Media PI product in North America, launched over a decade ago, providing PI cover for video/film production, radio and television broadcasting, publishing and other media.
Chris Pavlou, Professional Indemnity Portfolio Manager - International Markets, QBE Europe, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Lucy and Hannah to QBE as we expand our PI offering into the media sector. The hire of two trusted media insurance specialists underpins QBE’s commitment to growth in this area as we look to further diversify our PI portfolio.”
